How much can I store in the Free Account level?
We provide 500MB of storage for free. That will give you up to 20 x text documents + 20 photos + up to 3 minutes of video as well as all the text fields completed.
Why would I use the portal if i have a will?
Quite simply, the Legal Will, once witnessed by two people, or a lawyer or JP, is a legally binding document. It is your strongest level of protection to have your wishes delivered as expected.
The AfterLife portal is for all of the smaller things that may change more often. Most people don’t update their Wills regularly, but you could list these every day items in your AfterLife app. Or take a pic of your favourite salt and pepper shakers that you want to leave to a friend, put a note on it and where they are! You wouldn’t do that in your Will, but you can do it in your portal.
If you would like to update your actual Will with more info regularly, an annual renewal after the first year is just AU$12.99/year! But remember you still need to get it signed each time you change it to make it legal.

How do i choose who can see what?
No. In the Viewers section, you can set a friend as an Admin or Regular viewer of memories and documents. This also includes whether they can see each section before, or only after your portal is unlocked upon passing. In the letters section, you can choose if it’s a private letter for one person, or for all loved ones to see.
How is my portal unlocked?
Once you pass away, your executor as listed in the Shared Lives section will upload your death certificate. Once this is done, a second Administrator will be sent an email to verify that certificate. At this point the system unlocks the information to the relevant people as chosen by you.
How long does my information stay online after I pass away?
Your loved ones will have access to your details for 18 months on a free account or 30 months on either of the Paid accounts. But remember, you can still download the information you have been given permission for at any time. The Administrator can download the entire file, but only after the account holder is verified as deceased.
Can AfterLife staff see my information?
No. We will be able to see unidentifiable information such as how much of your account you have used and how long you have had your account but we cannot see the detail of each section.
What's the minimum age for an account?
The minimum age to have your own account is 18 years of age. However you can make a person under the age of 18 a beneficiary. A legal guardian may approve a person under the age of 18 to have an account, however the legal guardian is responsible for the terms of the account.
What have I got to lose?
Nothing. It’s free to hold a ‘Limited Storage’ account but plenty of room to note the most important things.
You might just enjoy pondering the legacy you will be leaving to your loved ones. The alternative is that you haven’t made your wishes known, and that can be challenging for everyone.
